The Midwest Carbon Express Pipeline System is the world’s largest CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage) project currently under execution. This project encompasses a total of 2,570 miles of pipeline and 14 pump stations that transport captured CO2 from 57 ethanol and fertilizer to Class VI sequestration wells in North Dakota. The pipelines carry dense phase CO2 and consist of laterals, trunklines, and main pipelines ranging from 4 to 24-inch and are in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, and North Dakota. Gulf has been providing both hydraulic and pipeline engineering.
