Yemen-Masila Pipeline

Location: Yemen

The Yemen-Masila Export Project for Canadian Occidental Petroleum Ltd. involved the development of crucial infrastructure for crude oil export in Yemen. The project included a 30 MW central power plant that processed 120,000 BPD of crude oil and 300,000 BPD of water, as well as a diesel topping plant for fuel production. An 85-mile 24-inch diameter pipeline was built to transport crude oil, along with a pump station and a marine terminal with offshore loading capabilities, including a Single Point Mooring (SPM) system. Additionally, the project encompassed operating accommodations, maintenance facilities, a new airport, a small vessel harbor, and significant road improvements. The scope covered project management, detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management, all delivered on a fast-track schedule with first oil achieved in just 18 months. This greenfield project significantly upgraded Yemen’s oil export infrastructure, enhancing the client’s operational efficiency.
